Good morning Reader,
Welcome to The FAM’s 40th issue.
Before anything else, I want to pause for a moment and say thank you.
For the last 40 Sundays you’ve opened, replied, shared, and stayed with us along this important and personal journey. So many of you have written back with stories of challenge, courage, and growth. Others have quietly read along each week, reflecting on what it means to move from just getting by to living fully alive.
Either way, you’ve been part of building this. And it means more to me than you know.
Last week, a VP of Member Services invited me to speak at their national meeting in San Diego at the end of the month. It’s unusual to get speaking requests just three weeks before an event.
In her email she wrote:
“With the recent international conflict and economic uncertainty, we cancelled a keynote, hence the short notice, so we can pivot to a more fitting and new message around adversity, change, adapting, teamwork…”
I think we can all feel what is being said here.
Moments like this remind me why our mission, empowering one million people to rise from just getting by to living fully alive, matters now more than ever.
And over these past 40 Sundays something else has become clear.
The ideas we’ve been exploring together deserve a deeper platform.
Honor Yourself: My New Book
Over the next few months, I’ll be focused on writing my next book:
Honor Yourself: Stop negotiating with yourself and rise from quiet self‑betrayal to self‑trust, self‑respect, and self‑direction.
Honor Yourself will be available in October, and I’m excited for you to read it.
To do this work justice, I’m going to narrow my focus for just a bit and step away from writing The FAM each week.
But I don’t want to disappear completely while this book is coming together. So I thought it might be meaningful to invite a small group from The FAM to see pieces of the book as it develops and even help shape it along the way.
Our Advance Circle
Over the next 12 weeks, I’ll be sending occasional behind‑the‑scenes writing notes — including early passages, ideas that may or may not make the final book, and questions where your perspective can help form the book’s narrative.
If you’d like to be part of this small group, simply → raise your hand here.
What excites me most about our Advance Circle is hearing your thoughts and feedback throughout this writing journey. I mean… that’s what we do in the FAM — right? We’re in this together.
And, I would genuinely value your insights in this close circle.
The 41st Issue Of The FAM
With my head down writing Honor Yourself, the 41st issue of The FAM will arrive in early Summer.
In the meantime, we’ve curated some of our favorite past issues and will send those to you each Sunday. If you would prefer NOT to receive those, simply click here.
More Committed Than Ever
The email asking me to speak in just a few weeks is telling. We need each other more than ever. And we need to focus on what’s really important.
And the truth is, you are important. You matter.
If I have learned anything about those of us attracted to the mission of The FAM, it’s that we are givers. It’s in our DNA to help, support, and serve others. And in doing so, we often leave very little energy for ourselves.
This is why I’m going on this writing retreat.
There’s a quote by Henry David Thoreau that I’ve been reading and re-reading lately:
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life… to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life.”
And Reader, this is the essence of The FAM.
Honoring yourself — so you can live deeply and fully alive, sucking out all the marrow of life.
Here’s to the next phase of our journey together. I’m honored to continue walking this path with you.
And, remember, if you’d like to help shape the book along the way, don’t forget to raise your hand to be part of our Advance Circle here.
